Isabelle est vraiment une hôte attentionnée. C'est un lieu qui vous offre une vrai pause en plein Bordeaux. Literie top. Maison Bordelaise très bien décorée. We stayed with Isabelle seven years ago, and had good memories, so we booked with her again on a rail holiday to France and Spain. The first plus is that La Halte Montaigne is less ten ten minutes' walk from both the railway station and adjacent tram stop, giving easy access to the town centre, which otherwise is a 30-40 minute walk away. It's an old-style house with wood and marble floors, and immacualately clean with comfortable bedding. Breakfast is simple but good quality, with local bread, cheeses, honey and jam, plus croissants, fruit and yoghurt, and a big jug of nice coffee. Isabelle is a delightful host, always happy to chat in excellent English, and ready with good recommendations - the Maison du Vin (opposite the Tourist Office and not to be confused with the Cité du Vin) was an elegent and inexpensive place to try the products of Bordeaux, and Le Boullin near the station was also good value. Isabelle is a very kind host, making us feel at home right from the start. Her B&B which she runs with passion is beautiful, the rooms are tidy, very nicely decorated and comfortable. We had a wonderful 2 days in Bordeaux, also thanks to the good tips Isabelle gave us. La Halte Mantaigne is situated very close (<5 min walk) from the train station. So perfect to get the tram of bus to the centre. And if you are not afraid of walking, you can stroll the city centre in 20 - 25 minutes along the Garonne river.Posted onVerified Je recommande sans hésiter.
