The place was clean, homely, the breakfast was excellent for France. The landlady Isobelle was extremely helpful. We were in Bordeaux during the rail strike and we were unable to catch a train to Sarlat, our ultimate destination..Isobelle voluntarily did a lot of research on our behalf, without us having to request her help and found us a bus connection to Perigueux which was extremely helpful. Isobelle also printed off timetables, and schedules which were very useful.

A delightful B&B

We stayed three nights during the Epiphany celebrations in this small and comfortable B&B. The house is well kept, the breakfast excellent but the real strength of this accommodation is Mrs. Isabelle. I would like to clarify that we had booked a standard room and the lady was kind enough to give us a room upstairs, larger and quieter without asking for any price increase. Furthermore, in addition to the availability during our stay, Mrs. Isabelle welcomed us with a splendid breakfast also on the morning of our departure (having the plane at 7.00 from Bordeaux we had to get up at five in the morning). La halte Montaigne is the perfect accommodation for those who want to spend a few days in a peaceful place and out of the “hit and run” of large impersonal hotels.

Lovely discovery at the end of a very difficult travel day.

The welcome was very friendly. The room spotless, contemporary and efficient. Breakfast was generous and delicious. The hostess was delightful and helpful, concerned for our onward travel due to the ongoing strikes.

Love B&B with exceptional hospitality

We had a wonderful stay at La Halte Montaigne. Isabelle was more than accommodating. She gave us a map and showed us some places to visit. She was also great with our daughter and had crafting supplies for her to play with. Breakfast was wonderful too. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stay here.

Ein ruhiges Hotel unweit des Bahnhofs mit sehr kultivierter Besitzerin.

Das Bett war sehr bequem, die Gastgeberin war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und das Haus ist recht geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Zimmer war allgemein recht ruhig und sehr sauber.

Im Zimmer war es zu zweit mit Gepäck etwas eng und die Lage im Erdgeschoss mit dem Fenster in Richtung Straße hatte eine ziemlich eintönige Aussicht zur Folge.

Non posso che confermare le ottime recensioni che questa tipica casa francese ha già ricevuto. Isabelle, la nostra gentilissima padrona di casa, è stata disponibile a soddisfare ogni nostra richiesta e ci ha fornito numerosi consigli per rendere il nostro viaggio davvero confortevole. Camera confortevole, pulita e ben arredata, colazione ottima e abbondante. Vicina alla stazione St.Jean, si raggiunge il centro con una piacevole passeggiata lungofiume. Assolutamente da vedere anche la Dune de Pilat distante circa 60km che però, fuori stagione, non è raggiungibile con il bus dalla stazione dei treni di Arcachon. Abbiamo perciò noleggiato un’auto presso la stazione di St. Jean con una veloce formalità e a un prezzo equo. Tornerei sicuramente a la Halte Montaigne!

Ein rundherum gelungener Urlaub in der schönen Stadt Bordeaux

Es war ein super schöner Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel (eher Pension). Unser Zimmer war zwar das Kleinste im Haus, aber völlig ausreichend, sehr sauber und modern eingerichtet. Bad und WC sind voneinander getrennt. Wir sind sehr herzlich von der Vermieterin Isabell empfangen worden. Von ihr bekamen wir wertvolle Tipps für Ausflüge in die Stadt und Umgebung und täglich total leckeres, reichhaltiges Frühstück. Im Sommer kann man den kleinen angrenzenden Hof zum Essen und entspannen nutzen.

Wer empfindlich auf Straßengeräusche ist, sollte nach einem Zimmer zur Hofseite fragen.

The place is really nice and the host is helpful and amazing. She gave us a lot of tips about everything, from to get around to where to buy wine and food for reasonable prices. Totally recommend the stay.

The only thing we did not like was that the toilet in our bedroom was separated from the shower.

Das B&B La Halte Montaigne bietet schöne Zimmer (bewertet werden “Margaux” und “Medoquine”). Die Zimmer sind groß und bestens ausgestattet. Betten gut, Dusche und Bad ausgezeichnet. Sehr sauber. Man hört manchmal die Autos auf der Hauptstrasse.
Das Frühstück ist super, mit einem breiten Angebot. Alle sitzen gemeinsam am großen Esstisch, es macht viel Spaß sich mit den anderen Gästen auszutauschen.
Isabelle ist eine herzliche, gut gelaunte und sehr hilfreiche Gastgeberin.

Ce fut un très bon séjour. Isabelle nous a accueillis chaleureusement dans sa belle demeure, très bien située à 2 pas de la gare. Notre hôtesse a été charmante et à l écoute. Elle nous a concocté toute une journée de visites dans la ville et c était très réussi. La chambre était spacieuse, la literie confortable; le petit coin cuisine bien pratique et bien équipé. Quant au petit déjeuner, il est tellement copieux qu on a bien du mal à quitter la table….

Absolutely lovely stay

I loved my stay here. Isabelle is the finest host- warm, welcoming, full of information, generous. The space is immaculate, quiet, very pretty, with a sweet private courtyard-garden and a small stocked kitchen just for the guests. My room was huge, clean, airy, formidable. The station is an easy walk away; the tram an easy ride to the Old Town. I am so happy I stayed at La Halte Montaigne in gorgeous Bordeaux. I would love to return with my family and stay here again!

Wirklich eine besonders nette Gastgeberin. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Unterkunft liegt zentral in der Nähe des Bahnhofs. Der Innenhof ist sehr ansprechend, das Frühstück war unglaublich lecker. Wir können diese Unterkunft sehr empfehlen.

Incredible stay

La Halte Montaigne was the best stay of our trip. Our host, Isabelle, is attentive, kind and warm and showed us wonderful hospitality. The property itself is lovely, everything was perfect. The breakfast was also delightful and a great way to start the day in Bordeaux.

We just got back from a total of 3 nights stay. We really enjoyed our stay. Very homey , relaxing and close to the train station. The area around the train station is very busy and noisy but Le Halte Montaigne is close enough but is an oasis in this area. Isabelle is wonderful. Very welcoming and helpful. She gave us good advice on places to visit and where to buy good but inexpensive wines. Thanks so much and hope to visit again someday!

Accoglienza perfetta. Isabelle è pronta ad accogliere ogni richiesta logistica: tra cui il frigo disponibile, l’Upgrade della stanza con una migliore. La colazione abbondante e squisita. L’ambiente caldo e mai chiassoso. L’area giardino oltre la stanza.

Nulla….solo, se possibile, consiglio a Isabelle una TV anche in lingue diverse dal francese (una antenna a parabola aiuterebbe).

Welcoming base to explore Bordeaux, with excellent breakfast!

Very friendly host (and friendly dog!) in a very nice place to stay on the outskirts of central Bordeaux, close to the main station. Big comfy bed, good facilities and a delicious breakfast, all we needed for a short stay exploring the city.

Although on a quiet street, there was a little bit of noise from the road and surrounding area. Room was very nice although bathroom slightly small, and shower didn’t quite function as well as it could have done.

The hostess was lovely and so helpful. This is a small hotel and guests all sat together at a lovely breakfast feast. A great way to meet people from all around the world. Only minutes from Gare St Jean and the fantastic tram system.

Mekan sahibinin yaklaşımı, konum ve odanın geniş ve rahat olması pozitif taraflar. Ama kapı kilitleri kesinlikle değişmeli. Kapıyı açıp kapamak sorunlu idi. Genel olarak gayet memnun kaldım ve bir daha gelirse yine burada kalacağımı düşünüyorum 😊

A truly wonderful place for a séjour in Bordeaux. Peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable. Isabelle is very knowledgeable about the town and her warmth makes you very happy.

Les chambres sont spacieuses, très propres, confortables et cosys. La literie est très confortable également. La décoration est très soignée, on se sent comme dans un cocon. Dans la salle de bains, il y a tous les produits nécessaires, c’est bien agréable. L’hôtesse est charmante, elle donne plein de conseils précieux et elle est aux petits soins. Très bon emplacement près de la gare. L’établissement est une belle maison de maître qui associe confort et élégance dans une ambiance conviviale. Tellement mieux qu’une chaîne d’hôtel sans âme. On se sent comme chez soi!

Очень понравились апартаменты. Очень теплый прием хозяйки. Атмосфера очень душевная и домашняя. Здесь есть все, что бы почувствовать себя очень уютно, по домашнему. На кухне можно сварить себе кофе, попить чаю или воды. Легко можно добраться до центра, а при желании прогуляться. Это то место, которое оставляет очень теплые воспоминания, благодаря очень приятной атмосфере и душевному приему.

The property was easy to find, close to the railway station and was ideal for our needs. The property has lots of period features and also a modern bright feel. The breakfast was really good. Everything was very fresh and our host was always available to help.

Spacious, calm and gracious

An easy walk from the station and easy to find, provided you pay attention to the street numbers. There is a very small plaque beside the front door; otherwise, no obvious hotel signage. Isobel may contact you prior to arrival to ensure all is ready for you. Isobel is a charming host, who will give you some good information to help you orient yourselves and make the most of your stay. She is very attentive without being intrusive: she has the balance just right. The hotel feels spacious especially upstairs, accessed by the sweeping (marble?) staircase. Our room was simply but tastefully furnished. The bedroom floors are attractively polished floorboards. Bottled water is provided in the room and refreshed each day. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but a very well equipped communal kitchen downstairs. There are some mugs with lids to take upstairs but also inside & garden areas for sitting. The common breakfast table proved one of the unexpected high points for us over our 2 nights.

The heavy footed or those who wear heels may wish to bear in mind how sound might travel to the adjoining rooms.

Isabelle is the most brilliant host – friendly and welcoming and informative. The breakfast was excellent. The beds were super comfortable, the bathroom was well appointed and the décor was attractive.

quite a walk to city centre via streets that are not very busy at night time very quiet hotel and not used to chatting and laughing in communal area at 11.30 pm we were asked to keep chat quiet by the owner – and we are older ladies so not being rowdy

Great place to stay in a friendly house

We booked three nights with Isabelle for our first visit to Bordeaux and I had wished we had a week here.. It was such a joy to stay here, Isabelle was very hospitable and helped us with maps and knowledge. It was so easy to walk from the Gare to The property, much better than carrying bags onto trams. The rooms were spacious and clean and very comfortable. Our breakfast was incredible, fruit, yoghurt, cheese, croissants, juice, tea,coffee rt etc, all nicely presented. We were so happy to also spend a further night with Isabelle before returning to Paris. Our room Deux Rives was excellently placed with sun and light from the lovely courtyard below.
Thank you Isabelle, we loved our stay with you, as you know!

A French home from home!

Isabelle welcomed us with an excellent map and guidebook and was always around to help and advise. The breakfast was brilliant and it was great to chat to other guests from other countries. We found the kitchenette very useful. Everything was clean, comfortable and well equipped.

The place was absolutely beautiful. Next to the train station, 15m walk from the central. Quiet road and safe. The breakfast was absolutely delicious with fresh baguette each morning, croissant, variety of fruits, traditional french breakfast 🙂 The owner Isabelle an exceptional host , very considerate and respectful, with load of information about everything in the city, wine etc. I travel a lot with my wife and that was probably the best and memorable place we have stayed. 10 stars from us <3

The hotel is about 5 minutes from the train station . Once there, you receive a warm welcome from the landlady and lots of helpful tips. The room we stayed in was clean , spacious and extremely stylish – as was the whole house. We were given a section of the fridge and enjoyed the garden. Would definitely stay again.

Estancia excelente. Isabelle, es una anfitriona genial que nos ayudó mucho, tanto para conseguirnos un aparcamiento para el coche a 15€ el día (En Burdeos, es precio normal) como también a intentar encontrar un dentista de urgencias por un problema que tuvo mi pareja. Además se involucra para crear buen ambiente entre los huéspedes. La casa es muy acogedora, desayuno muy bueno y la habitación grande. El baño tenía la curiosidad de estar dividido en ducha – lavabo e inodoro.

Lo único a mejorar es la comodidad de la cama que no lo es del todo. También el suelo cruje un poco, pero es normal en una finca antigua reformada.
